Drive through the chain of Rift Valley Lakes, which starts from Lake Koka an artificial Lake from the Awash River with spectacular scenery as the other rift valley lakes that includes Ziway, Langano, Abiata, Shalla, Chamo and Abaya.Visit the vibrant diverse people along the Omo River Rift Valley with their exotic identities that fascinate the world. It is also considered as one of the most concentration of the greatest ethnic diversity on earth ,the lower Omo valley is the home of more than 18 different tribes that includes the colorful Hammer ,the painted Karo ,the Mursi famous for their women put lip-plate ,Konso known for their Landscape terracing ,Bena ,Tsemai, Nyangatom,Dassanech,and Erbore. The Omo River started and goes through the highlands and forests before be part of the lower Omo valley and finally enter to Lake Turkana.

What to Expect

Traveling to this greater region of pastoralists and the Lake Region will provide to the traveler the idea how a population far away from civilization in the southern corner of Ethiopian Rift Valley survived to this day maintaining their old rituals and string culture. It has also special interest for palaeo-anthropological study, where the lower Omo valley has prehistoric sites at which ancient hominids have been discovered and it was recognized as USESCO world heritage site.

Day 2Drive to Langano lakes

On the way visit Abayta Shalla National park. O/N Hotel .Drive to Arbaminch on the way visit the Dorze tribe for their unique Bamboo huts and their traditional weaving system. O/N Hotel

Day 3Drive to Nechsar National Park

AM drive and visit Nechsar National Park, PM boat trip on Lake Chamo. O/N Hotel

Day 4Drive to Jinka

if it’s on Thursday visit a Bena tribe market at Keyafer. O/N Hotel

Day 5Drive to Mursi Tribe

Drive to visit the Mursi Tribe, then to Mago National Park. Late in the after noon game drive to see some wild animals. O/N Camping

Day 6Drive to Korcho

Drive to Korcho to visit the Karo tribe then to Murulle for camping, if time permits visit the Bume tribe in the afternoon

Day 7Drive to Turmi

Drive to Turmi then to Omorate t visit the Dasanech tribe. O/N Camping at Turmi
